Engelmann Oak Tours
In celebration of National Arbor Day and the Arboretum's 75th Anniversary, Jim Henrich, Curator of Living Collections, will lead these special walks.
Engelmann Oak trees are native to the Arboretum's site. The species is not only endangered, but our population of trees is aging. During this tour you will learn about the history and biology of Engelmann oaks, its endangered status, and our conservation management program that will insure its welfare into the future.
Tours are scheduled for 10am, 11am and 2pm
Space is limited to 30 participants.
Members - This tour is free, but tour registration is required. Please sign in and select your free ticket.
Non-members - Tour registration includes paid admission. Please show your ticket when you enter.
Tour starts promptly at the designated time at the top of Tallac Knoll. It is approximately 1 mile from the North entrance to the top of Tallac Knoll with an incline from the Rose Garden. A shuttle will be available from the North and South entrances. Please come early if you need assistance. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
