Join us for one or both of our dynamic plumeria workshops.
Pruning Plumeria, April 19th, 10am-1pm
Shape, trim, bloom! There’s more to trimming a plumeria tree than simply chopping away. Learn how to correctly prune and shape your trees in this hands-on workshop in the LA Arboretum’s plumeria grove. After in-depth instructions covering why, how, and where to trim branches, you will work with experienced grove volunteers to prune one or more of the grove’s trees.
Plumeria A-Z, June 7, 10am-1pm
Did you know the Los Angeles County Arboretum has the largest plumeria grove on the West Coast? Thanks to the fact that Southern California has an ideal climate for plumeria! Join us for this hands-on workshop that will cover all you need to know about plumeria care, seeds, genetics, grafting and common problems.
Both classes will be located in our plumeria grove which is about a 15-minute walk from the entrance. *Carts will be available to shuttle participants to class location starting at 9:30am.
About The Instructor
Since 2001, Diana has been growing plumeria in her drought tolerant, coastal garden and happily passes along her knowledge to the community. In 2014, she kick-started a volunteer effort to renovate, expand and improve the Arboretum’s grove of over 100 trees. She firmly believes in sharing her expertise and lessons learned via in-grove workshops and the annual Plumeria Day event.
